THE PURPOSE OF THE WORK
Start with the outcome you need to understand.
A will can direct probate property, nominate an executor, and record guardianship preferences for minor children. It does not control every asset, so beneficiary designations and ownership should be reviewed alongside it.
We discuss what a will can and cannot do under Rhode Island law, how it relates to jointly owned property and beneficiary-designated accounts, and which signatures and formalities apply to the final documents.

QUESTIONS TO REVIEW
Questions a will may address
Who should serve as executor and alternate
How probate property should be distributed
Who may care for minor children
How tangible personal property may be handled
How the will coordinates with non-probate transfers
01 · ORIENT
Identify the decision.
A brief, non-confidential inquiry helps us understand the subject, timing, and likely jurisdiction.
02 · REVIEW
Clarify facts and options.
If the matter is a fit, the consultation focuses on goals, documents, ownership, roles, and procedural constraints.
03 · DEFINE
Agree on the work.
Representation begins only after conflicts review, scope and fees are confirmed, and a written engagement is accepted.
A CLEAR PLACE TO BEGIN
Bring the question. We will help identify the next step.
An initial conversation can clarify whether your concern is planning, probate, or a fiduciary responsibility—and what information may be useful next.
Submitting an inquiry does not create an attorney-client relationship. Please do not send confidential or sensitive information.
